Electrical Engineer

​​We provide engineering solutions for our clients with our team’s vast experience in the wood processing, mining, oil and gas, and power generation and distribution projects in Canada and United States.

​

We offer multi-disciplined engineering services throughout every phase of a project; we provide client solutions from project inception through feasibility study, cost estimate, process, detailed engineering, procurement, construction management, and plant operational support.

​

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES​

  • Designing electrical drawings including single line diagrams and control wiring diagrams, and performing power systems study, including short circuit calculation, arc flash study, relay protection;

  • Preparing grounding layouts, lighting layouts, conduit and cable tray layouts;

  • Developing motor schematics and wiring diagrams, instrumentation and control wiring diagrams;

  • Preparing PLC configuration and I/O lists; performing PLC programming and HMI programming.

  • Updating cost estimates, project schedule, and

  • Producing bid documents and perform bid evaluations.

  • Coordinating with suppliers, clients, contractors, and other disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS​

  • Ten years of experience in electrical and power systems design, project management, and on-site commissioning for mining, wood industry, oil and gas facilities, renewable energy, such as pellet plant, OSB plant, mine, oil and gas field, wind farm, solar panel, biomass plant, and power utilities.

  • A registered professional engineer with EGBC.

  • Experience with power transmission, substations, power distribution;

  • Knowledge of diesel and gas gensets, VFDs, and PLC, HMI, and DCS systems.

  • Familiarity with IEEE Color Books, CEC, NEC, NFPA, NAICS, and the BC Building Code.

  • Experience using EasyPower, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.

  • The ability to provide direction and leadership to engineers and designers.

  • A demonstrated ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and consultants and colleagues;

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.

  • No travel restriction to USA.
